The Breckenridge Golf Course is a public course, and the clubhouse is a 10-minute drive west on Tiger Road. It transforms, in the winter, into a Nordic Ski Center and has a year-round restaurant and shop.

In addition to the neighborhood and neighboring public lands, more open space is across Tiger Road. Running parallel to this road is the Swan River, and good fishing. Nearby is a designated elk winter-habitat reserve with great biking and hiking trails.

Summit Estates History

Summit Estates, Breckenridge, was planned in the late 1980s to be a place to build a small rural estate, a single-family home that would impact the natural surroundings as little as possible. The first home was built in 1990 and construction has continued to the present with most lots left undeveloped.

The neighborhood and private drives are paved, but planning and design covenants do not allowed them to be excessive. Natural gas was brought to the subdivision, and the electric lines were buried. The large lots and soil conditions make the use of wells for water more desirable than bringing in town water, and non-evaporative septic systems environmentally sound.
