North French Street - Jordan Camp

breckenridge French Street homes

Jordon Camp homes are part of a handful of historically compatible, small scale homes on small lots on North French Street, just north of Wellington Road. Any Jordan Camp home for sale is then two blocks east and two blocks north of the main intersection of downtown Breckenridge. Built only a few years before this millennium, these three single family homes, and two duplex homes filled in a small pocket of undeveloped land, and make nice use of the land with small individual yards and common space. The location is so central any Jordan Camp home for sale would be a great deal for a ski home, full-time residence or investment property.

The northern end of Main Street is more residential, and closer to the gondola with access to Peaks 7 and 8.  French Street Gardens are on the east side of Main, in the residential area that was originally settled in the 1880s. The streets here rise slightly from Main and offer a great view of the sunset over the Tenmile Range and the Breckenridge ski resort. Quieter than the south end, several great restaurants and shops are finding a home on the north side of town and a free town-to-ski-resort bus runs along French. The free countywide transportation system, Summit Stage, has its Breckenridge hub near the gondola, so Copper Mountain, Keystone or Frisco are accessible without driving from French Street.

Another block to the north is City Market, the only supermarket in Breckenridge, and it easily accessed by the bike or pedestrian path that lies on the west side of Main, just blocks from French Street.

Jordan Camp - French Street Architecture

Victorian style with peaked roofs and gables is the look of Jordan Camp and its neighbor French Street Garden homes, but they were built around the turn of this century and have a more open floor plan than the classic Victorian two-story styles. Garages are around the back and accessed by an alley to make the sidewalk view more like the neighborhoods of the 1800s.

Nearby Recreation

In addition to being close to the bike path and the gondola, there is also a skyway-skiway that is maintained from the ski mountain to town. It runs under Park Avenue into the gondola parking lot, and is a fun way to get home to Jordan Camp. The gondola runs winter and summer so the hiking opportunities abound. The Peaks Trail, a 10-mile hike on rolling hills starts at the base area of Peak 7 and continues to Frisco with offshoots onto the Miners Creek and Gold Hill Trails. The Breckenridge Rec Center with indoor and clay tennis courts, pools, track and other fitness spaces is a few blocks down the bike path, or on the free bus route. The free bus has routes up Baldy Mountain, out to Tiger Road, and on to Frisco and can carry bikes.
