Summit County > Breckenridge Communities > Snider Addition
North in Downtown Breckenridge
Called Snyder Addition on an old map, this neighborhood is newer that the original residential parts of Breckenridge that lie south and east of the premier intersection of town at Lincoln and Main. This addition was started in the 1880s as family homes built right on Main Street. Today, most of the remaining old buildings are ski-town businesses and restaurants. Newer properties have filled in the 300 North block of Main Street which is the main part of the Snider Addition. A few homes in Snider have a French Street address. French Street bends down from the grid it rides on the south side of town and connects to Main Street.
All the homes or commercial properties for sale in the Snider Addition are very convenient in-town locations either on Main Street or a stones throw from it. The northern end of Breckenridge is generally more residential and closer to the gondola which accesses Peaks 7 and 8. Quieter than the south end, several great restaurants and shops are finding a home on the north side of town. The free countywide transportation system, the Summit Stage, has a hub at the Breckenridge Transfer Station near the gondola making Copper Mountain, Keystone and Frisco easy, no-drive options from any property in the Snider Addition.
City Market, the only supermarket in Breckenridge, is an easy walk from this side of town. The bike path lies out the backdoor of most Snider Addition properties and homes on the west side of Main.

Historic Snider Addition
Part of the Breckenridge Historic District, the Snider Addition has authentic Victorian buildings and several new buildings designed in compatible Victorian style: peaked roofs and several gables. This older neighborhood will have a large variety of style and purposes.
In addition to being close to the bike path and the gondola, there is also a skyway-skiway that is maintained from the ski mountain to town. It runs under Park Avenue into the gondola parking lot not far from the Snider Addition. The gondola runs winter and summer so the hiking opportunities are extended. The Peaks Trail, a 10-mile hike on rolling hills starts at the base area of Peak 7 and continues to Frisco with offshoots onto the Miners Creek and Gold Hill Trails. The Breckenridge Rec Center with tennis courts, pools, track and fitness areas is a few blocks down the bike path or on the free bus route.
