Living In Sunny Frisco
The weather in Frisco can often be the finest in the county if you like sunshine. Nearly every day includes sunshine. Often while it is snowing on the surrounding ski resorts, Frisco remains 'in the doughnut hole,' as locals say. From town, the 14,000 foot peaks of Grays and Torrey's are usually visible in the distance. Buffalo Mountain and the start of the Ten Mile Range are familiar landmarks. Views to west are filled with the Gore Range. The town of Vail isn't far away. I-70 has two exits on the edges of Frisco. Copper Mountain is a quick trip to the west and Denver is 72 miles to the east.
Outdoors in Frisco
Hiking trails begin straight from your door in many parts of Frisco. To the north is Meadow Creek, to the south the beginning of the Ten Mile Range, and a short and sweet, but steep , hike up its first peak, Mt.Royal. To get to the trail, head south from anywhere in town, and cross the bike path. The path is paved from Breckenridge to Copper Mountain.
The trails on the south side are sign posted and your options will be toward Rainbow Lake (west) and Mt. Royal. This trail will continue to Mt. Victoria and Peak 1. The former ski jump of Frisco and several abandoned mining settlements and coke works are accessible from this trail.
