Recreation near Mountain Side Condos

Out the back - to the south - of this neighborhood is national forest and the many trails that meander between Miners Creek and Tenmile Creek at the base of Mount Royal.  The trail up Mount Royal is steep - about 1.5 hours to the top - but rewards with a drop-off spectacular view of Tenmile Canyon. The view from the top is nearly circular, except that the entire spine of the Tenmile Range is at your back as you look down on the entrance to Frisco. More trail entices you to climb to Peak 1 and more.

South of the Mountain Side Condo buildings you'll find the county-wide paved bike path. This path can lead you to Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, Silverthorne, Dillon or Keystone.

Rainbow Lake is above the bike path, a short hike to the southeast. Near the lake you'll also find the Peaks Trail that is a 10 mile trail that's perfect for cross-country skiers, snowshoers, mountain bikers and hikers.  Also called the Frickenridge Trail, it connects Frisco to the Breckenridge ski resort. Ride the gondola down to downtown Breckenridge and take the free Summit Stage back to your home in Mountain Side.
