On March 30, the 18 partners of Breckenridge Associates Real Estate were extremely proud to provide dinner for some of our local Summit County heroes at St Anthony’s Medical Center in Frisco, CO.  Four nurses’ stations with approximately 10 people per station over 2 shifts were provided a meal.  80 meals in total!  Much appreciation goes out to Kelly Brenholt at Ridge Street Kitchen in Breckenridge for putting our order together and assisting with the logistics of getting the meals prepared!  Kelly and her staff were able to provide a mix of sandwiches and salads with chips and cookies for both shifts. We also want to thank 2 of our partners, Jason Hart and Nathan Moorefield for making the morning delivery and another partner, James Shingles and our…

Major Changes

One thing is certain, we’re not alone, we’re all in this global pandemic together. For Breckenridge, a resort community who depends tremendously on our visitors, we are definitely feeling the effects of Stay at Home orders.

Although Summit County had the very first positive case of Coronavirus in the entire state, there have not been any related deaths and our positive cases remain low. Being a world-class destination, the first few cases originated from international travelers from various corners of the world. Knowing we would have a spring break influx, local officials made the decision to be proactive and keep the spread to a minimum by closing the restaurants and non-essential businesses just days after Vail Resorts decided to…

Challenging times always lead to innovation and change. The real estate industry is ramping up the use of virtual technology to adapt to the current situation and beyond. Your house hunt does not have to get put on hold because of stay-at-home orders or social distancing.

Fortunately, real estate transactions were deemed critical under Colorado’s Stay-At-Home orders. We greatly respect the responsibility that comes with this privilege. We understand the serious nature of the pandemic and are taking measures in our office and during showings to protect our clients, our staff, and potential buyers.

On our own website, we are seeing an increase in traffic for property views. We want to be able to cater to buyers while adhering to social distancing…

Staging your home to prepare it for listing is a big trend for sellers. But it’s not always well understood. There’s something about being ‘staged’ that feels theatrical. And decorating your house to entice buyers may seem counterintuitive: Why spend money when you’re moving? Think of staging like a good haircut or new shirt for a job interview—it is simply making a great first impression. Statistics show it is usually worth the effort. According to the National Association of Realtor’s 2019 Profile of Home Staging, 53 percent of buyers’ agents say that staging reduces the amount of time a property is on the market, and 44 percent say that on average, staging increases the dollar amount offered.

Preparing your home for sale is about encouraging…

Freddie Mac has delivered news that will potentially boost sales as our Summit country real estate market heads into its busiest selling season. US long-term mortgage rates have fallen for the third straight week, with the 30-year loan at its lowest point in three years at 3.45 percent. The average 15-year mortgage has dropped to 2.975 percent. Experts expect rates to remain in a holding pattern below 4 percent. Mortgage rates at these lows were last seen in 2016, which makes 2020 a profitable time for refinancing or purchasing. Even if rates should rise a bit, they are low by historical standards.

At present, in our local area, there are 176 active residential listings for Breckenridge and 503 in Summit County. These numbers are higher than they have…

If that’s the case with your gang, consider exploring one of the area’s Nordic centers. Summit County boasts not simply one but three, with each center offering unique winter activities for all ages and appetites for adventure. If you haven’t yet looked into snow fun other than the ski area, you’re sure to find at least one activity that will surprise you…
