Breckenridge Nordic Center:

Have you ever wanted to ride in a snowcat? Do you know what a snowcat is? It’s an enclosed-cab, truck-sized, fully tracked vehicle designed to move on snow. At Breckenridge Nordic Center, you can experience the only snowcat tour in Breckenridge. Load the family into one of these state-of-the art, heated and glass-enclosed vehicles for a scenic ride to an historic mining hut deep in the woods on Peak 8. At the halfway point, enjoy s’mores and hot chocolate. Keep an eye out for a moose sighting; they are abundant in this area. The final tour destination is a prime spot for social media-worthy pictures! Bring along saucers so you can enjoy the sledding runs at the top before heading back to the lodge. In addition, the Center boasts 1,400 acres of cross country Nordic and snowshoeing on private trails through pristine legend forests with soaring mountain views.

Gold Run Nordic Center:

Gold Run Nordic Center has cross-country ski trails, both skate and classic styles, with trails ranging from novice to advance, and lessons for anyone who is new to the sport. But what’s new and exciting is Gold Run’s hottest winter exploration toy: Fat bikes! Fat bikes have extra-large tires making it possible to cruise along on the groomed Nordic trails. Rentals and maps are available for all activities. Your four-legged family members are welcome at Gold Run, but must be leashed. That’s due to the numerous moose in the area!

Frisco Nordic Center:

Frisco Nordic Center is located on the south side of Frisco near the marina and Frisco Adventure Park. It’s easy to spend the entire day at this spot enjoying tubing and tumble bubbles at the park, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing at the Nordic center, or one of winter’s most fun and cherished old-fashioned adventures; a horse-drawn sleigh ride! Snuggle up under warm blankets with your family and unwind as you enjoy a magical experience gliding through the beautiful landscape of the Frisco peninsula gazing at the snow-capped peaks in the distance. Live music, fresh baked cookies and hot chocolate are part of the fun. A very special adventure is a three-course dinner sleigh ride, a romantic adventure everyone will enjoy and remember.
