Breckenridge Ski Resort plans to extend the 2018-19 ski and snowboarding season through Memorial Day. This adds more than a month of extra skiing and riding for pass holders and resort guests for the first time in close to 20 years. The resort’s original closing date for the season was planned for April 21, and is now extended through Memorial Day, Monday, May 27. Breckenridge said it plans to operate the extended season on Peak 7, and will offer access to advanced- and expert-level terrain on Peak 8, which includes Imperial, Horseshoe and North Bowls, which are accessed by the Independent SuperChair, the Imperial Express SuperChair and the TBar. Domus Pacis is Latin for House of Peace. The Domus Pacis Family Respite encourages cancer patients, their families and friends to escape to the beauty of the mountains and experience the peace that comes from creating joyful memories for the people they most cherish. Through donated resort homes and many giving volunteers, the central mountains of Colorado including Summit County, were designated as the non-profit program’s initial respite community. Since 2008, Domus Pacis has coordinated nearly 1,000 family respite stays.

Current inventory (supply) vs. sales (demand) within the single family home market segment of Breckenridge real estate is reflective of a market trend when summarizing statistics through 2018. In defining supply vs. demand in reference to single family homes, supply is defined as the current number of active Breckenridge listings, while demand is defined as the number of sales. The Town of Breckenridge and Breckenridge Ski Resort announced mid December that a term sheet has been finalized which outlines details for a parking structure to be constructed on the South Gondola Lot in Breckenridge. The new parking structure is anticipated to break ground in spring of 2020 and is expected to create approximately 400 additional parking spaces, pending final Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) approval.

“We know that in-town parking is a critical need in Breckenridge and we look forward to partnering with the Town to bring new, incremental parking spaces to the South Gondola Lot for the community and our guests,” said John Buhler, vice president and chief operating officer at Breckenridge Ski Resort.
