Mardi Gras Festivities Cancelled
Celebrate Fat Tuesday in the high alpine snow capped mountains of Breckenridge, and with all of the fun and party you’d expect from a traditional Mardi Gras Celebration. Main Street, Breckenridge is the place to be on the first Tuesday in March for a colorful New Orleans-style party sure to impress and make certain tourists and locals alike are able to “let the good times roll”. Mardi Gras lovers will be celebrating Carnival in style with Mardi Gras beads, masks, boas, costumes, dancing, live music and the great sense of community fun Breckenridge is proud to show off.
Breckenridge Mardi Gras Highlights: March 5, 2019
4:30pm, Mardi Gras Parade on Breckenridge Main St. Whether a participant or spectator, kids of all ages will enjoy Breckenridge’s fun Mardi Gras parade. Day-of parade registration starts at 3:30pm in the parade staging area. Parade staging begins at 3:30pm on Main St. between Watson Ave. and Wellington Rd. prior to 4:30pm start. Enter through the traffic light at French St. and N. Main St., or via Watson Ave. The parade begins at 4:30pm, and will head south to the intersection of S. Main St. and Adams Ave. where it will turn West towards the Breckenridge Riverwalk Center. Cash prizes will be awarded for most creative floats: 1st: $500, 2nd: $300, 3rd: $200.
5-7pm, FREE Concert featuring Hazel Miller Band. Breckenridge Riverwalk Center. Hazel Miller Band performs an eclectic blend of Jazz, R&B, Blues, Soul-R&B and original music, sure to fit the Mardi Gras party scene of dancing and singing along.
2019 Paulaner Salvator “Strong Beer” Festival. This beer festival will feature big (strong) beers from Paulaner. Try some King Cake, Gumbo or Pretzels at Breckenridge's un-traditional Mardi Gras celebration.
