Sun, Fun, Cycling Extravaganza! Book your trip to Breckenridge in August because it will be the place to be to watch Americas Race, the USA Pro Cycling Challenge. Some of the worlds best riders will return to Colorado for the seven day race, from August 17th through the 23rd. Cyclists will compete in the largest sporting event in the state, riding through the majestic Rockies, reaching extreme elevations and enduring some of Colorados most legendary passes. Last year, over one million spectators spent a week traveling throughout the Rockies to cheer on the cyclists as they took on some of the most challenging terrain.. This year, Summit County will be one of the decisive points of the race. The USA Pro Cycling Challenge will begin in a new host city, Steamboat Springs and will travel to A-Basin and Copper Mountain. Breckenridge will host the Stage 4 Finish and Individual Time Trials the following day. With this part of the race taking place at our famous elevation, 9,600 feet above sea level, it will be a bona fide test of the racers endurance and strength.

Stage 7 | Sunday, August 23- Golden to Denver
Also debuting this year, will be the USA Cycling endorsed Womens USA Pro Cycling Challenge, an invitation only event. On August 21st, Breckenridge will be the inaugural position of the Womens USA Pro Cycling Challenge, on the same 2015 time trail course that will be shared with the male riders. The time trial begins with a 8.5 mile flat stretch, followed by a steep climb up Moonstone Road- testing cyclists climbing skills. The descent down Boreas Pass will be the deciding factor on who will win. On August 22nd, the womens cyclists will begin the race in Loveland and head to Ft. Collins, ending in Golden on August 23rd, prior to the start of the last day of competition for the Mens USA Pro Cycling Challenge. This will be the first time in 27 years that some of the best men and women from around the world will be sharing courses at an international race event.
