Secret Stash: USA Pro Cycling Challenge
This year, Breckenridge will be hosting Stage 2 Finish and Stage 3 Start of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge. On Tuesday, August 20th, racers will enter town from Hoosier Pass and will end near Blue River Plaza. Join us on Tuesday, August 20th, starting at 1:30 pm, for drinks and appetizers, to welcome the bikers as they make their way to the finish line.  The official finish line will then follow on Main Street between Washington and Adams, making the view from our front porch exciting and truly a part of the action!

Stage 2: Tuesday, August 20
Riders will start in Aspen with a climb over Independence Pass. After traveling through Buena Vista, Fairplay and Alma, they’ll continue up Hoosier Pass and then come down into town veering left on Park Ave then turn right on French St., cross Main St. staying on French up and around the curve then left on Wellington Rd.

After hitting Wellington Road, the racers will turn right to Royal Tiger and then they’ll tackle steep sections of High Point Drive and Moonstone Road, followed by a swift descend down Boreas Pass Road, and a finish near the Blue River Plaza.



Stage 3: Wednesday, August 21
Stage 3 begins on Main Street with a neutral start and parade laps in downtown Breckenridge. After heading north on Highway 9, riders will climb Swan Mountain Road and continue north through Heeney, over Rabbit Ears Pass and finish in Steamboat Springs. Swan Mountain Road is expected to be another hot viewpoint for Breckenridge spectators.



Head to the UPCC.GoBreck.com details on road closures the day of the race. If you can take the bus, bike or walk into town, that’s your best bet. Parking will be a challenge on race day.
