Vail has launched a new idea of enjoying the mountains, without having the snow blanketing the ground. Epic Discovery is a new summer mountain adventure at Breckenridge, for summer 2014. Vail Resorts is creating a family and eco-friendly place where you can come and enjoy the scenery and environment. It is a new way that families can experience all that the mountains have to offer. The idea is to learn about your surroundings while you play. It creates a great adventure.
The new adventures that Vail Resorts is envisioning, range from bouldering and rock climbing, to zip lines and a large observation deck in Horseshoe Bowl. And if you have already experienced the Alpine Slides, they planning on a longer, faster ride with The Forest Flyer. If you have little ones, there are plenty activities for them as well. Similar to the base of Peak 8 right now during the summer, The Kids' Adventure Zone will still include the bungee trampolines, alpine slide, panning for gems and gold, human maze and mountain bike park.
With all this fun also comes an important relationship. Vail Resorts has teamed up with The Nature Conservancy, the leading conservation non-profit organization, to bring the educational side to the new adventures. This partnership should encourage families to learn about their natural surroundings. There will be learning stations integrated throughout the mountain, where the USFS Forest Rangers can share their passions about the mountain and wildlife. One percent of all revenue earned by the summer activities will be donated to the Nature Conservancy to be used to restore and maintain a healthy forest for future generations to enjoy.
We all love the mountains!
These great ideas are still pending the USFS approval.
