Off-Season is a Fun Time in Breckenridge

The bears are emerging from hibernation and they are out looking for food. Its a good thing they don't know about Summit County's mud season dining specials. Thanks to a new facebook page and website, keeping up-to-date on spring season dining deals and restaurant closings is easier than ever. Newly created by tapped-in locals looking for one cohesive calendar of events, live music and dining specials, we predict this source will quickly become a Summit County must-check.

Another locals favorite is the Dining Passport. Your ten dollar passport purchase opens the door to numerous dining deals and helps fund the Breckenridge Restaurant Associations scholarship awards to local students. Win/win yum. The link below outlines every deal available with the passport, from prix fixe to 2 for 1 offers. With options like this, its a good thing bike season comes after mud season!

And if you are still hitting the slopes, here is a tip from a picky chef friend: the ribs served at The Legends Cafe Pacific Rim Asian Station (in the classic A Frame at the base) are good enough to pull over for on a powder day. And yes, we are still having powder days!

And back to those hungry bears. For tips on how to coexist with local wildlife (and some great wildlife photos) check out the volunteer organization Summit County Bear Awares Facebook page.
