Fourth of July in Breckenridge!

We've compiled a list of 4th of July events taking place around Summit County for the day. Hope you can join in the fun of this special celebration in the mountains.

BRECKENRIDGE

Independence Day 10K Trail Run, 7 am
Kickoff the July 4th weekend with this favorite event.  This scenic 10k trail running race offers up some of the best views in the Breckenridge area, while finishing at Carter Park, just in time to catch the Main Street parade and other festivities.  The race is limited to 350 participants, so register early.  Register at www.townofbreckenridge.com or call 970.453.1734.

The Firecracker 50 Mountain Bike Race, 9:30 am
The race is on!  Kickoff the 4th of July Parade with the annual Firecracker 50 Mountain Bike Race. Come cheer on riders as they embark on a 50 mile journey on the beautiful trails throughout the Breckenridge area. Register early as this race fills up very quickly. Main Street Parade, 10 am
Breckenridge's official parade will start with the Firecracker 50 Mountain Bike Race, at 9:30 am and it will take 800+ riders ½ hour to get down Main Streets in waves. The parade will start around 10 a.m.  Parade registration please call 970.453.5055. Following the parade in the Blue River Plaza, listen to the reading of the Declaration of Independence by George Washington (C.J. Muller).

Kids Water Fight – Kids can join the Red, White & Blue Fire Dept., 12:30-2:30 pm
A hit every year, enjoy an old time water fight on Main Street. Free for kids to participate.

Viper 'Show and Shine', 12:30-3 pm
Vipers will be parked on Main Street allowing spectators to view the cars.

Free Concert: at the Riverwalk Center, 2 pm
Featuring Dumpstaphunk.  We anticipate happy, dancing crowd at the Riverwalk Center! Enjoy this free event – no tickets are needed.  Please leave your dogs or other pets on the Riverwalk Center lawn. For more information, call the Box Office @ 970.547.3100.

National Repertory Orchestra: 4th of July Patriotic Concert, 8:30 pm For almost 20 years, the Town of Breckenridge and National Repertory Orchestra (NRO) have collaborated to present a Patriotic Concert each July 4th at the Riverwalk Center in Breckenridge.  To prevent numerous empty seats, the Riverwalk Center Box Office will sell indoor reserved seat tickets at a cost of $5, $10 and $15. There will be a limit of 5 tickets per order.

Tickets will be made available for sale online and in person at the Riverwalk Center Box Office located at 150 West Adams Avenue on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Noon. Phone orders will ONLY be accepted at 970-547-3100 after the Riverwalk Center Box Office has served guests waiting in line. Doors will open at 8pm. Lawn seating will remain free and will not require a ticket- first come, first seated.

Fireworks, 9:30 pm (weather permitting)
Fireworks will be set off between Peak 8 and Peak 9. They will be visible from most spots around town.

DILLON

4th of July Celebration at Town Park & Marina Park, 10 am - 10 pm
Join us for a full day of fun to celebrate our independence.  Starting at noon, enjoy the kids bike parade.  Surrounding the Farmers Market will be a kid's zone that will have the kids jumping for joy.  Enjoy the bounce castles, giant slides and bungee jumping units.

At the Dillon Amphitheatre, the Goonies 80's Rock Band will be entertaining.  Fireworks will start at 9:30 (weather permitting), over the Frisco Marina, which is visible from the Dillon Amphitheatre.

KEYSTONE

Keystone's 4th of July Celebration, All Day

Come celebrate mountain style in Keystone.  Start your morning with the Kids Free Fishing Derby, to our Bike Parade.  Then enjoy some BBQ and live music being performed by the Funkiphino.  Finish the night with a fireworks display over Keystone Lake at 9 pm, weather permitting. Free parking is available at the River Run Parking Lot and the Keystone Conference Center, just off HWY 6 across from the Keystone Lodge.  For more information, call 800-354-4386
