With warmer weather arriving and ski season winding down, Summit County's resorts are preparing for their end-of-season celebrations. From live concerts and themed parties to pond skimming and over-the-top costume contests, each mountain offers its own signature sendoff to winter. It’s the perfect time to soak up the last turns of the season and celebrate another unforgettable year in the high country.

Breckenridge Ski Resort

Closing Day: May 11, 2025

The end of ski season in Breckenridge is always a mix of nostalgia and celebration. As the days grow warmer and the snow softens, skiers and riders make the most of their final turns under bluebird skies. It’s a time to soak up the sunshine, enjoy the lively après scene, and gear up for Breckenridge’s iconic end-of-season tradition—the Splash into Spring Pond Skim.

Imperial Challenge – April 5, 2025

This pseudo-triathlon begins in town and challenges participants to bike or run to the base of Peak 7, ascend to the top of Peak 8 on skis or splitboards, and then ski or snowboard back down. Costumes such as spandex and tutus are encouraged.

Rockstar DJ Cat – April 5, 12 & 19, 2025

The Rockstar Energy DJ Cat, a snowcat-turned-DJ booth, will be stationed on Peak 8, providing music to enhance the skiing and riding experience.

Peaks & Beats – April 26-27, 2025

This new spring bash at the base of Peak 8 features two days of free concerts and pond skimming. Dombresky will perform on April 26, followed by Cassian on April 27. Costumes are strongly encouraged.

36th Annual Enduro & Après Party – April 9, 2025

A 10-hour ski-a-thon on the Pallavicini Lift to benefit a local resident. Participants will enjoy a day of skiing followed by a chef-prepared dinner and silent auction.

Save Our Snow Sustainability Party – April 20, 2025

Celebrate Earth Day on the mountain at Arapahoe Basin’s Save Our Snow Sustainability Party. This fun and eco-focused event highlights A-Basin’s commitment to protecting the environment with live music, local vendors, and sustainability education—all set against a stunning alpine backdrop.

Gay Basin: Ski & Ride With Pride - May 17–18, 2025

Join Arapahoe Basin's annual "Gay Basin: Ski & Ride With Pride" weekend, celebrating the LGBTQ+ community with DJs, live bands, dancing, skiing, and après festivities. This inclusive event fosters a welcoming atmosphere for all attendees.

Festival of the Brewpubs – May 25, 2025

Arapahoe Basin will host its annual Festival of the Brewpubs, offering attendees the chance to sample a variety of Summit County's finest craft beers in a scenic mountain setting. For $40, participants receive a festival mug and enjoy unlimited tastings from noon to 4:00 PM at Mountain Goat Plaza.

Keystone Ski Resort

Closing day: April 6, 2025

The end of ski season at Keystone is a time to reflect on a winter full of powder days, unforgettable turns, and lively après-ski moments. Before the lifts stop spinning, Keystone invites guests to cap off the season with Springtastic and the always-entertaining Pond Skim—two days of music, costumes, and springtime celebration on the slopes.

Springtastic Rail Jam – April 5, 2025

Keystone Resort will host the Springtastic Rail Jam at the Mountain House base area, inviting skiers and snowboarders aged 14 and up to showcase their terrain park skills for a chance to win cash prizes and gear. Registration is encouraged in advance on the Keystone Resort website, with all proceeds benefiting the EpicPromise Foundation.

Slush Cup – April 6, 2025

Keystone Resort will host the annual Slush Cup at the Mountain House base area, starting at 11:30 AM. Participants of all ages are invited to don creative costumes and attempt to skim across a chilly pond, competing for prizes such as Best Overall and Best Costume. A special kid-friendly pond will also be available for younger participants. Registration fees are $30 for adults (16+ years) and $15 for kids (6–15 years), with all proceeds benefiting the EpicPromise Foundation.

Slush Rush – May 3, 2025

A playful team relay event combining skiing, snowboarding, and a pond skim. Teams of three race through various challenges, culminating in a splash into icy waters.

Copper Live Series: El Paso Lasso – May 3, 2025

As part of Copper Mountain’s free live music series, enjoy an evening performance in Center Village to wrap up the season.
