Celebrate July 4th...Mountain Style

If red fire trucks, white snowcapped peaks and deep blue skies sound like your kind of red, white and blue, you can do no better than 4th of July in Summit County. In a place settled by the most independent of spirits, Independence Day is a very big deal. Breckenridge, Frisco, Keystone, Dillon and Copper Mountain all have events planned and the Summit Stage offers free countywide transportation.

Summit County maintains an active lifestyle even on the most famous of BBQ holidays, and the 4th of July is no exception. From bike races and foot races to a Main Street kid’s water fight, bike decorating contest and fishing derby you’ll have no problem keeping your Fitbit happy on this holiday. Looking for something a little more relaxing? How about a garden party, or an arts festival, or taking in the world famous National Repertory Orchestra? Once again, Summit County has you covered. And crowds just not your thing? U.S. Forest Service lands make up about 80 percent of the county’s land area, so there is plenty of space for you solitude seekers to reflect and recharge away from the happy masses.

We hope to see you out celebrating!
