Breckenridge Arts Festival 2022

Summer may be winding down, but if you are an art enthusiast of any kind, Breckenridge is the place now through Labor Day Weekend.

The Breckenridge International Festival of Arts (BIFA) is a celebration of human creative skill and imagination. After a two-year absence, this spectacular event returns for 10 days of multi-art programs Aug 12-21, 2022.

BIFA takes creativity above and beyond the expected and ordinary. While always centered around music, art exhibits and art classes, the featured event lineup changes with each year to help us keep taking our imaginations to new places. Some of the exhibits are temporary and some will become interwoven into the culture of Breckenridge- like Isak the Troll!

Beyond being a spectator, there are also ways for individuals to become participants in the various performances and visual arts. Be an umbrella holder at UP! The Umbrella Project or donate plastic for a Trail Mix project. See your own likeness transformed to life-size art in real time with the interactive surface transformation at Reflections by Daniel Rozin.

Put your hiking shoes on to see what is bound to be one of this year’s most popular temporary exhibits. We don’t want to give away the secret, but we’ll provide some clues! Up the mountain above Carter Park, just off the Moonstone Trail, you’ll find a mythical creature with a single horn on his forehead. You may spot some sparkly mushrooms on the trail just before you catch site of him.

But wait, there’s more! There are four more Breckenridge Sunday Market days left before the season ends on September 4, 2023. Take a stroll around Main Street Station every Sunday from 10am-3pm to explore artistic creations and homegrown items from over 45 Colorado-based vendors.

Last but not least, the 47th Annual Breckenridge Gathering at the Great Divide Art Festival will take place September 3-5, 2023. This is the longest running art festival in Summit County and will showcase the original works of top artists from around the country in multiple categories including jewelry, sculpture and photography. This show will take place at the Colorado Community College Breckenridge campus from 10am-5pm all three days.
