Opening day is a celebrated occasion every November and the anticipation this year was higher than ever before. However, the excitement was also mixed with reservation-system wariness and most everyone was wondering if purchasing a season pass would be worthwhile. Although everyone was thrilled with the announcement of a ski season back in September, the thought of having to make a reservation instilled a sense of dread in many. With only a handful of runs ready to go during the scheduled openings of Keystone and Breckenridge, pessimism was running as high as the Imperial Lift.
