Breckenridge Between Blue River and Hoosier Pass

View of Red Mountain in Blue River

South of the Blue River firehouse, Highway 9 starts to climb what is known as Hoosier Pass, which is the spine of North America called the Continental Divide. The views are dramatic out here on the south end of Summit County and many beautiful pieces of rural Colorado property are the setting for private homes that enjoy these views.

Without weather or other very-possible natural occurrences in rural Colorado (like wildlife on the highway), the homes south of the towns of Breckenridge and Blue River are not more than 30 minutes from all the amenities that the ski town of Breckenridge offers. Transportation options other than cars are few, but in the summer many a bike makes the trip for sport. The views are gorgeous.
