Shock Hill homes were not developed until 2000, and the lots were highly valued when they came on the market, so all the homes are an up-scale, modern mountain design that received prior approval from the subdivision's Design Review Board before construction. Guidelines require a two-car garage and conformity to the platted building envelopes to insure continued view corridors for existing homes. The lots are large and so are the homes. In 2012, construction began on the largest home in the county in the Shock Hill subdivision.
