Rec Centers offer Indoor Recreation

Breckenridge and Silverthorne have large, well populated recreation centers that offer an alternative to outdoor recreation opportunities that abound in Summit County. Both centers offer a multitude of course in fitness, places for local kids to exercise and gather after school and both feature large pools where one can swim laps during certain established times.

The Breckenridge Recreation Center has tradition workout rooms, and large gym with organized sports, a racquetball court, indoor rock-climbing wall and aerobic/dance studios. Lap swimming, and a leisure pool and water slide make up the active part of the aquatics area, and a co-ed sauna and indoor and outdoor hot tubs the relaxing part. The rec center is located on the northside of downtown, at 880 Airport Road. 970-453-1734.

In addition to the pool at the Silverthorne Recreation Center, you'll find a gymnasium, indoor track, and fitness equipment. The rec center also offers on-site child care for parents using the facility. 430 Rainbow Drive, Silverthorne. 970-272-7370.
