Richard Wallace

Richard left his homeland of Scotland in 1990 for a winter of skiing in Breckenridge and never left! The stunning surroundings, sense of international community, and unlimited outdoor opportunities of Breckenridge rooted him to this special place. As a local for over 30 years, he has experienced first hand the changes of the Town, the mountain, and of course, the real estate market of this unique area.

Professional Career & More
Richard Wallace, Realtor at Breckenridge Associates

After skiing all day and working in restaurants all night for his first few years, he knew he had to find a career. In 1994 he started as a real estate agent with Moore & Company and a few years later became one of the founding partners of Breckenridge Associates Real Estate. While the Town has changed a lot since then, his approach to working with clients has remained the same. Each client has their own reasons for wanting to sell, live or invest in the mountains and it’s important to build a relationship based on that foundation. Since Breckenridge and the surrounding area is a niche market Richard understands how important it is to provide honest advice based on his years of experience and thorough research of the market. His lengthy career as an agent speaks to his clients’ trust in his expertise and knowledge.

When outside of the office, he and his wife, Melissa, take advantage of living in “the Kingdom” as Breckenridge is often referred to by locals. Golfing on the Jack Nicklaus-designed Breckenridge Golf Course, or biking along the path to Copper or around Lake Dillon during the summer. Taking in a concert at the Dillon Amphitheater or the Riverwalk Center on summer evenings. Or, in the colder months, deciding which local mountain to ski (tough choice) or going to one of the Summit Huts backcountry cabins.

Giving back to the community that has sustained him is also a priority which is why he and his partners support many community events and organizations. The Summit Foundation, the Breckenridge Music Institute, the Breckenridge Film Festival, and the International Snow Sculptures to name a few.  It’s a privilege to have been able to live here for as long as I have and I welcome the opportunity to share my experience with you, whether buying or selling in Breckenridge or Summit County.
