Winter Indoor Activity Guide

During the winter we celebrate each new dusting or dumping of snow. Most snowfalls are typically followed by bluebird skies.  But for those looking to escape a blustery snow day and still have some fun, Breckenridge offers many wonderful indoor activities. Large groups, families, couples and people of all ages can find the perfect way to spend the day indoors.

Love to solve riddles, uncover clues or crack codes? Breckenridge is home to two fantastic escape rooms. The Escape Room located on Ridge Street has four rooms each with a different theme and difficulty rating. Private rooms can accommodate 3-11 participants. Mountain Time Escape Room has three locations, two at Main Street Station and one on Main Street. Each location is a private room with a different theme and difficulty. Reservations are required for both escape rooms.

The Breckenridge Heritage Alliance is a nationally recognized leader in historic preservation and historic tourism. Visit one of their three house museums where visitors can step into the past. Stop by the visitor center to learn about Breckenridge’s history from mining to the boom of the ski industry. The visitor center is built around one of the original mining cabins from the Breckenridge mining days. The Edwin Carter Discovery Center gives visitors a glimpse into the life of Edwin Carter, a miner turned taxidermist. Visitors can view some of Carter’s taxidermy animals and learn about his conservation efforts. The Barney Ford House was recognized by the Colorado Tourism Hall of Fame. This beautiful Victorian era house was restored back to its glory for current-day visitors. Learn about Barney Ford who escaped slavery to become an entrepreneur and is now noted as a Founder of Colorado. All museums are free with a suggested donation of $5.

Artists young and old can find the perfect class through Breckenridge Creative Arts. Stop by Old Masonic Hall to view the current art exhibition or see what is on stage at the Back Stage Theater.
