Window of Opportunity: Housing Recovery Moving Forward

Recently, Homes.com, released there latest Local Market Index report.  Homes.com is a leading online real estate destination and a division of the Dominion Enterprises.  Home prices ending in May of 2013, showed a gain in sales of single-family homes in 83 of the 100 markets.  In last month's report, each market reported gains over the previous period in 2012.

According in the Homes.com Rebound Report for May 2013, 19 markets have reached their full recovery point.  Some additional highlights from the Homes.com Rebound Report include:
  • 19 markets have made up a 100% rebound.  These markets have reached complete recovery.  This number is up from 14 markets reaching full recovery in the previous month.
  •  39 markets are showing signs of 50% or more in rebound.
  • Eight of the top ten markets are in Texas and Oklahoma.
  • Five markets are exceeding a 200% rebound.
  • Two markets in the Denver area exceeded a 100% rebound.  Denver-Aurora-Broomfield and Colorado Springs rebounded 119.97% and 109.82% respectively.
Brock MacLean, the executive vice president of Homes.com, is quoted, "The findings of the Homes.com Rebound Report confirm the increased confidence and continuing recovery in the housing market.  With five new markets reaching a full recovery over the last month and modest gains in some of the already recovered markets, the overall rebound of the U.S. housing market continues to move forward."
 
Our local Breckenridge market is also showing signs of moving forward.  At the end of July, the residential market in Breckenridge is ahead 18.33% this year compared to the same time in 2012.  From 2010, we have seen a consistent increase in the number of residential properties sold.  And 2013 is continuing to show signs of being on track.
