Breckenridge is a host city again for the annual return of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge.  For seven days, the world's top cyclists with ride through majestic Rockies, reaching extreme elevations and enduring the mountain passes.  In its fourth year, the USA Pro Cycling Challenging is one of the largest cycling events in U.S. history and will have some of the best professional cyclists competing.  This race is amazing and you don't want to miss it!  If you plan on joining in on the fun, make your plans early because this is one of the largest spectator event that takes place.

From August 18th-24th, cyclists will be taking on the challenge of riding through the Colorado Mountains.  This year, Breckenridge will be hosting the Stage 5 Finish of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge, on August 22nd, 2014.   The race will begin in a new host city, Woodland Park.  Cyclists will take in the scenery as they ride through Pike National Forest, which will be a great place to watch high speed racing and break away attempts.  The intensity will rise as cyclists reach Fairplay and Alma.  They will gain extreme elevation as they climb over Hoosier Pass (the highest elevation to be reached during the race at 11,500 feet above seas level) and make a fast descent into Breckenridge to the finish line on Moonstone Road.
