Secret Stash - Breckenridge's Dew Tour, December 13-16

Posted by Breckenridge Associates Real Estate on Monday, December 10th, 2012 at 1:27pm.

The bigger and better Dew Tour will feature the world’s top freestyle skiers and snowboarders as they converge in Breckenridge to kick off the first major event of the winter action sports season. The only winter event of the 2012 Dew Tour will feature more competitions, including ski and snowboard Big Air, as well as a Film Night and concert that will take over downtown Breckenridge.
The Dew Tour Mountain Championships will feature many of Breckenridge's world-class team skiers and riders.
Freeski Men’s Slopestyle: Bobby Brown, James Woods
Freeski Men’s Big Air: Bobby Brown
Freeski Women’s Slopestyle: Keri Herman, Anna Segal
Snowboard Men’s Pipe: Zach Black, Brett Esser
Snowboard Men’s Slopestyle: Eric Willett
Snowboard Men’s Big Air: Eric Willett
Snowboard Women’s Pipe: Arielle Gold
Snowboard Women’s Slopestyle: Silvia Mittermuller

Freestyle skiing events will see the athletes sizing each other up after an off-season spent training for one of the sport’s biggest stages at the Dew Tour. Simon Dumont and Tanner Hall will meet in the Superpipe, hoping their experience is enough to overtake Kevin Rolland, the winner of last year’s Dew Cup. Breckenridge team skier Bobby Brown will attempt to use home slope advantage against Nick Goepper and previous Dew Cup champ Tom Wallisch on the Slopestyle course. The three will also be among those competing in Big Air.

The pressure will also be on the women as they compete for Dew Cups in Superpipe and Slopestyle. Canadian Rosalind Groenewoud will aim for the top spot on the podium in Pipe, fending off Maddie Bowman, Brita Sigourney and Jen Hudak. Slopestyle could be anyone’s game, as Kaya Turski and locals Keri Herman and Emilia Wint lead the top names set to compete at Breckenridge.

2012 Dew Tour Music & Entertainment

The Dew Tour Mountain Championships includes music on and off the hill, reflecting the expansion of the Dew Tour’s music platform throughout 2012. Hip-hop artists Macklemore & Ryan Lewis headline the weekend with a live show at the Riverwalk Center in downtown Breckenridge on Saturday, Dec. 15. Known for their unique beats, candid lyricism, and catchy choruses, Macklemore and his producer Ryan Lewis hit the Dew Tour on the heels of releasing their album The Heist, which topped iTunes’ Albums chart and debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200. After two sold-out national tours in 2011 and a combined 60 million views on YouTube, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have proven their ability to excite crowds with their energetic live performances.

Music will also be featured on the mountain with DJ duo Two Fresh spinning a set during Saturday’s Snowboard Big Air contest under the lights, creating a true outdoor party atmosphere for the fans with the music and competition coming together at Breckenridge’s Peak 8.
Tickets for the Dew Tour concert with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are currently sold out. The Dew Tour performance is part of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ ongoing international tour.
