Posted by Breckenridge Associates Real Estate on Saturday, January 11th, 2014 at 10:00am.

The International Snow Sculpture Championship returns to Breckenridge!  January 21st, 2014, marks the beginning of the renowned Budweiser International Snow Sculpture Championship (ISSC).  Twenty ton blocks of snow will start to be assembled on January 13th.  Artists can spend up to 65 hours, shaping and sculpting the snow into masterpieces.  There will be 15 teams competing, coming from all ends of the world- from Italy to Mongolia, to the local US Team Breckenridge.   Most competitors have medaled in similar events before.  They will create impeccable works of art that you don’t want to miss seeing.

The snow sculptures will be located behind the Riverwalk Center in the Tiger Dredge lot.  Come discover the history of the event, including the processes used in snow sculpting.  Teams will begin sculpting on January 21st.   Until January 25th, they will endure the bitter cold temperatures and elements, carving away the snow to create a masterpiece.  Teams will work through the night to finish up their masterpieces before the competition ends on the 25th at 10 a.m.  The awards ceremony will be held on January 25th, 2014 at 3:30 p.m.  Don’t forget to cast your vote for the best snow sculpture!  A $1 donation will get you one vote.  All proceeds go to supporting the Budweiser International Snow Sculpture Championship presented by Cadillac.   The final sculptures will be on display until February 2nd, 2014, weather permitting.  That night they will disappear magically, just like they were constructed.  We recommend that you take a look at the event in the evening and experience it in a whole new light.  The International Snow Sculpture Championships will again be illuminated with LED-lighting display, giving a magical perspective to the event.

The International Snow Sculpture Championships is close to the hearts of all of us at Breckenridge Associates Real Estate.  Among some the event’s original founders, were two of our Partner/Brokers, Rob Neyland and Ron Shelton.   Rob and Ron and Partner, Tom Day have been key in the event’s success from the beginning.
