This year, the Town of Breckenridge has another awesome winter event to share with locals and visitors. Over the last several weeks, the construction of the Ice Castle in the Tiger Dredge parking lot has been taking shape. Over 20 million pounds of ice will pile up and turn into an Ice Castle worth seeing. The Ice Castle is constructed from snow and ice and it will grow throughout the winter. As the castle grows, tunnels are created and visitors can meander through them. You can also enjoy the towering, brightly lit icicles.

The last several years, the Ice Castles have been built in Utah, Silverthorne, Steamboat Springs and the Mall of America in Minnesota. This year, the Town of Breckenridge gets to be a host of the stunning masterpiece. Breckenridge is a great place to build the Ice Castle because it is so cold for the winter months. Last year, the Ice Castles attracted more than 100,000 visitors in the two locations. The Ice Castle will stay in place until the spring temperatures start to melt the attraction. Â Watch as the Ice Castle starts to take shape and make sure to check back often to see it continue to grow! Â
