For January 2015, the residential market in Breckenridge has outperformed the previous year by over 50 percent, with 44 residential properties sold compared to only 29 for January 2014.   The Summit and Park Counties sold numbers for January 2015 are impressive as well, ahead 16 percent compared to January 2014.  There were 100 residential properties sold last month compared to 86 in January of last year. 

 In Breckenridge, there were 16 single family homes and 17 condos sold in January 2015. Both sectors outperformed 2014 by 23 percent and 54 percent, respectively. The duplex sector was ahead of 2014 by 100 percent and the townhome market ahead an astounding 133 percent.  Positive signs continue to be trending in the Breckenridge real estate market, with average sales price appreciating and the number of active listings continuing to dwindle.  At the start of February 2015, there were 317 active listings in the MLS. 

In Summit and Park Counties, the single family market has remained even, with 37 homes sold in the month of January.  The duplex market outperformed January 2014 by 40 percent, along with the condo market, being ahead by 14 percent. The townhome market in Summit and Park County is staggering, starting off the year 88 percent ahead of the same time period in 2014.  In addition to the great sale numbers, the inventory continues to fall with only 907 active listings at the start of February.   

The statistics show that Buyers are still in the marketplace.  Interest rates are still low, so take advantage of them before the Fed raises them.   And if you are thinking of selling in 2015, this is a great time to get your mountain home ready for the busy summer season.
